Privacy & data practices

Short, because the honest answer is short.

Who we are

tallywire is operated from the Netherlands and acts as controller for the processing described here. Contact for anything on this page: hello@tallywire.io.

What the dataset contains

tallywire aggregates publicly listed business information: venue names, addresses, coordinates, published service menus and list prices, and published aggregate ratings, observed from public booking platforms and business listings (the covered sources named on this site). It is business and service data about commercial venues. This page also serves as our public information notice for that indirectly collected data.

What it deliberately does not contain

No consumer profiles, no reviewer identities, no booking or transaction data. Business contact endpoints (a venue's public phone, website or booking link) may be included where the venue itself publishes them; we never collect private or personal contact details. Where a sole trader's venue name is their personal name, that name can qualify as personal data: we keep it strictly as the public business identity and treat removal requests with priority (see below).

Why we process it, and on what basis

The dataset exists to give buyers a comparable view of commercial service markets. We rely on legitimate interest: the data is limited to what the venues themselves publish commercially, no consumer data is touched, and any venue can have its records corrected or removed. Correspondence and deliveries to customers are processed to perform the contract with them.

How long we keep it

Dataset records are kept while the underlying listing remains publicly listed, plus the dated price history that makes the longitudinal series possible. Correspondence is kept for the duration of the business relationship.

Who touches the data

Hosting by Netlify, database by Supabase, forms by Formspree, chat by Crisp, cookieless analytics by Simple Analytics (EU-hosted), plus our email provider. Where a provider processes data outside the EEA it does so under its standard contractual safeguards. We sell licensed extracts to business customers under our customer terms, which prohibit re-identification and consumer profiling.

This website

We set no tracking cookies. Analytics are cookieless and aggregate. Anything you type into the chat widget or the request form is processed by that provider only so we can answer you.

Your rights

Access, correction, deletion, restriction and objection (including objection to any direct marketing) all work by emailing hello@tallywire.io; we answer within one business day and resolve removal requests typically within a few business days. You can also complain to your supervisory authority; in the Netherlands that is the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
